Vic Kids Eat Well

There have been a couple of minimal amendments to the Canteen menu to ensure we comply with the standards set by Nutrition Australia. The great news is our menu already passed five of the required 'small bites' and one 'large bite' and the subtle changes I have made have resulted in the Canteen achieving two additional 'small bites' and one additional 'large bite' which means healthier options for the kids!

All Things Australian Lunch - Monday 1st August

Thanks to the families who have supported our next special event. I'm still looking for helpers on the day. Please either leave your details at the office or register through My School Volunteer if you are available. All helpers will receive lunch.

Pink Lady Day

Canteen was very proud to work with JSC to raise money for Breast Cancer Network Australia on Tuesday 12th July, by holding 'Pink Lady Day' with a special Bento Lunch.

$1 from the purchase of each Bento was donated to the network through JSC and there also was the option of 'purchasing' a donation through MSC. The donation passed on from Canteen was $169. 

Thank you to all of the families who supported us on the day and a special mention to 1LP who made some beautiful thank you cards that were included in the Bentos.

MSC Menu Changes - Have you noticed?

From the start of Term 3, parents and students who use the My School Connect online system to order school lunches may notice some changes.  These changes are being trialled as part of Rolling Hills Primary School participation in a school lunch order research study being run by Cancer Council Victoria with support from our online canteen provider, My School Connect. All information being collected by My School Connect and supplied to the researchers will be anonymous so that no parent or student can be personally identified. In recognition of the school’s assistance with this research, all families will continue to get free access to the My School Connect online system until the end of 2022.

Canteen Helpers Needed!

I'm a little short on helpers this term, please consider signing up. 

The times required are:

Tuesdays 10.45am - 2.15pm

Thursdays 10.30am - 12.30pm, 12.15pm - 2.15pm or 10.30am -2.15pm.

If you are vaccinated and hold a WWCC, I would love to hear from you. Please contact me with your availability at - wendy.schilling@education.vic.gov.au

Everyone is welcome; we currently have parents, grandparents, aunts and even members of past RHPS families volunteering.
