Junior School

This week our Stage 3 5/6 classes went out and about on two very exciting and engaging excursions.  The Performing Arts class travelled to NIDA to study and investigate Commedia dell'Arte, whilst our Discovery Class visited to Museum of Contemporary Art to work with a professional artist, critiquing artworks, creating their own and expanding their knowledge of expression through the visual arts.

Both classes enjoyed a purposeful and exciting day, expanding their horizons in these exciting areas of study.

I wish our Kids' Lit Quiz team every success today as they represent NSW at the National Finals.  Reaching this level was an outstanding achievement and I am certain that this will be a thrilling day for our students; we look forward to hearing the results of their competition!

Basketball - Term 3, Week 4

The BMGS Swish had a bye. The next two games will be great games to watch so if you would like to come and watch them play, their next game will be on Monday 15th August at 7pm.

On Tuesday, 9th August, the BMGS Stars had six players and were really put through their paces in both of their games. In the first game, Sebastian Nicholls and Claire Rutherford were our two goal scorers and there were a lot of scoring attempts but the pressure was just too great. The first game ended in a 6-all draw. For the second game, the team was playing against some really skilful and tall players. The team had a number of attempts at goals but unfortunately, they just wouldn’t go in. The players never gave up and were determined to score. Claire Rutherford scored twice in the game to make sure we got points on the board. Unfortunately, we lost 20 to 4.

A reminder –that Parents were sent an email this week to discuss whether or not students in the Primary would like to play the most awesome game ever and join in the Springwood Scorchers Summer Basketball Competition. If you have any questions about the competition, chat to the team members who already play in it or ask Mrs Gerrard, who will be happy to answer any questions.  It is anticipated that the registration note will be distributed in Week 8.

My School Lunchbox - Temporary Change to Service

Parents are advised that My School Lunch Box will be temporarily reducing their menu and days of service for a period of six weeks, whilst they attend an overseas wedding. My School Lunch Box have been forced to make this decision due to a lack of staff remaining with the business throughout this period.

Therefore, from August 15 to September 30, My School Lunch Box will open for orders on FRIDAYS only, with significantly reduced menu choices.

My School Lunch Box apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates your understanding. Full service will resume from Monday, 3rd October.
