Week 3, Term 3 2022

Every Monday Morning we come together as a school community to share prayer. Special thanks to Year 2 White and Year 6 Blue who have led us in prayer over the past few weeks. Next week Year 5 Blue will lead us in prayer followed by Year 4 Blue in week 7. 

SACRAMENT OF FIRST EUCHARIST CELEBRATIONS

We would like to congratulate the students in Year 4 who celebrated their First Eucharist on Sunday 24th July. Our celebrations of the Sacrament of First Eucharist will continue this weekend Saturday 30th July, 5:30pm and Sunday 31st July, 10:30am at St Anne’s Church. We wish the Year 4 students a very special day and extend an invitation to all families of our school to come along and support these students at the Parish Masses.

Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation

UPCOMING DATES:

FAMILY FAITH EVENING: Sacrament of Confirmation 

Tuesday 30th August or Wednesday 31st August 6:30pm at St Anne’s Church

The expectation is the Confirmation families will attend and may extend the invitation to the candidates sponsors.

We would like to extend an invitation to all our Year 6 families to attend our Family Faith Evening with guest speaker Sr Rita Malavesi, which will explore the Sacrament of Confirmation 

There are two sessions so that families can choose a date that they would prefer.

RECONCILIATION: Sacrament of Confirmation 

Tuesday 4th October 5pm and 7pm at St Anne’s Church

The students who are celebrating their Sacrament of Confirmation, as part of their preparation will be participating in the Rite of Reconciliation/Penitential Service at St Anne’s Church on Tuesday 4th October at either 5pm or 7pm.

 

As part of their preparation for Confirmation the candidates and their families are asked to attend one of the Reconciliation/Penitential Service. This healing Sacrament allows the participants to actively live out and demonstrate their faith as part of their preparation as young adults to confirm their belief in God.

Sunday 9th October, 2pm at St. Patrick's Cathedral.

PLEASE NOTE: Information regarding the Sacrament as well as information registering and booking for the Sacrament of Reconciliation has been sent to families, via Operoo and we will use the TryBooking system.

We ask families to book by Friday 5th August as registration will close.

Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation

UPCOMING DATES:

Prayer Companion and Rite of Acceptance Weekend Masses.

Saturday 10th Sept / Sunday 11th Sept at St Anne’s Church 

As part of the Sacramental Preparation Program and as part of the candidates and families commitment to the Reconciliation Preparation the candidates will need to attend a Prayer Companion / Rite of Acceptance Weekend Mass

At this Mass the candidates will be asked to pass a prayer companion Card to one of the Parishioners who offers prayers for the candidate as they prepare for this special Sacrament. The candidates also participate in the Rite of Acceptance which is key to the preparation of both the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist

CELEBRATING AS A SCHOOL: 

Feast of St Anne & St Joachim

On Tuesday 26th July at 11:45am, as a school we gathered together for a special mass to celebrate the Feast of St Anne, of which our school was named after. St Anne is the mother of the blessed virgin Mary and the grandmother of our Lord, Jesus Christ. 

Feast of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop

On Monday 8th August the students will participate in a special paraliturgy to celebrate, remember and honour Mary MacKillop, Australia’s first Saint.
