The Year Prep Community

We have had such a busy yet fabulous start to Term 3!

In week 2 we started with our Family Tree Afternoon. As part of our 'My Story, Your Story, Our Story' Inquiry unit,  last Wednesday we welcomed our wonderful families into our community. The Prep Community was bustling with the sounds of parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and family friends working with their Prep student!  The students were asked to collaborate with their loved one to create a Family Tree. It was a fabulous opportunity for the children to be able to discuss the history of their family and celebrate the people in their lives.

The children were so excited to show off their work and their classroom.

Thank you so much to the families who entered our community with excitement and an eagerness to participate in the activity. We loved having you with us!

100 Days of School

The long wait is over! We finally got to celebrate our 100th Day of School! We are so proud of the hard work our Year Preps have put in over their first semester of primary school.  They have become such independent, resilient and respectful members of the Corpus Christi community and we can only imagine what they will continue to achieve throughout the rest of their primary school journey here at Corpus Christi.

We started our day with the school assembly where we paraded our fabulous outfits that celebrated the number 100!

We then continued the festivities in the classroom where the children participated in a range of activities that all related to the number 100!

To finish the day, the children were able to make their very own Fairy Bread (with 100s and 1000s of course)!

Thank you to our families who prepared the children beautifully for the day, we couldn't have celebrated without your help!

Circle Time Program

As the students have settled into the 2022 school year, we are going to commence the Circle Time support program for students.

In Term 3, I will be running the Circle Time program every Wednesday afternoon. These sessions will run for 30 minutes, with small groups of students with similar needs across the school. These sessions will promote: emotional awareness and skills, promoting the positive for resilience, identifying strengths, dreams and values as well as positive communication skills.

Our classroom teachers have identified students who we believe may benefit from our Circle Time program and if your child has been selected, you will receive a letter over the next week to confirm their participation in the program.
