From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers

Congratulations to our children who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last Saturday. The ceremony was very moving and the children participated reverently in the celebration. Many thanks to Suzanne Gracias, Lisa Vella, Peter Carlisle and  Patrick Craig for the way they have prepared the children.

It was both a reverent and meaningful experience made even more prayerful by the contribution of the Queen of Peace school choir under the guidance of Alicia Wilson and Margot O'Malley.

I would also like to thank the Queen of Peace staff for their assistance prior to and on the day. Thanks also to Bishop Martin and Father Joseph for leading us in a very beautiful liturgy.

Thank you to the families and sponsors who pledged their support of the students' faith lives.

Grandparents' Mass

This event, along with our celebrations of the Sacraments is one of the highlights of the school year. The morning began with Father Joseph celebrating mass in the Hall.  After mass, grandparents were able to catch up with their grandchild and then share  morning tea together with the other grandparents.

There was an extremely positive vibe at Queen of Peace. Thanks to all those who contributed to the day in particular the parents who came along to prepare morning tea and Alyson Stevens who coordinated the catering.

An additional school closure day was allocated to all schools in a bid to enable us to fulfill our Award conditions and provide Professional Practice time for teachers. Professional Practice time remains significant to delivering improved educational outcomes and maintaining staff engagement.
