Term 4 - Week 6- OSHC News

Over the past two weeks the children have participated in a variety of nature based play activities. The children have enjoyed playing on the junior primary playground with the construction materials and using their imagination to build and create exciting play environments.

The children have also played in the sandpits where they built castles and towers. Indoors the children created nature bookmarks, tree bark rubbing pictures and nature crowns. This program focus has allowed the children to engage with their natural surroundings and build their creativity and imagination.

These programmed activities all aim to reach the My Time Our Place outcomes specifically outcome 2, 3 and 4 which focus on engagement with the environment and overall wellbeing.

Community Night: The service had a great time during community night selling sweets and treats such as fairy floss, candy apples and many more. We hope all families enjoyed the night and we thank you for your continuous support and generosity towards the service.  We raised $1,515.00, which will go towards new equipment for the children.

2019 Enrolment & Permanent booking forms: Please ensure you have filled out a new enrolment form & yearly permanent booking form for your child/ren prior to commencing OSHC for Term 1 2019; existing families must also fill out a new enrolment form to update all records.  Forms can be collected from the OSHC room, front office or online on the LNPS website. Attached are our updated enrolment forms and the yearly permanent booking form 2019.

Dec/Jan Vacation Care Program: Is now available from the OSHC room, front office, or online on the LNPS website.  Come and join in the fun for these upcoming school holidays. If you wish to attend, be quick so you don’t miss out.

Medications: If your child requires medication please ensure that you have provided an updated action plan as well as the medication (asthma pump, epipen etc.) for 2019 to the service. It is vital that we have access to the medication at our service whilst your child is attending.

Sun Safety: Please remember that we follow the same sun safety rules as the school which means all children are required to wear hats outside as well as sunscreen. If your child is allergic to the sunscreen we provide please bring an alternative. Please note we do not provide spare hats, if your child does not bring a hat they must stay inside or under the shade of the OSHC veranda.

Sign in/out: Due to the New Child Care Package, parents will need to sign in and sign out at the exact time that their children arrive or leave the service. Our OSHC service is now required to provide Centrelink with the exact duration that each child attends the service in order for families to receive the child-care benefit.

QIP: As part of our Quality Improvement Plan we are constantly reviewing our service and thinking of different ways to improve, change or extend upon our ideas/ facilities etc. If you have any ideas or feedback please feel free to communicate these with an educator or the Director
