Update

Dear Parents and Caregivers

As always, this term is certainly flying by and we are way past the half way mark. Teachers are busy writing reports for the end of 2018 and formulating classes for 2019. There is always so much to do. It is also the time to reflect and celebrate achievements as the year concludes.

Just a reminder that end of year student reports, 2019 class placements and 2019 Materials and Services charges will be distributed to families on Friday 7th December. Optional interviews are also available to families by request if clarification regarding your child's report is needed. Please contact your child's teacher to arrange a suitable time during week 9.

We hope that you have already marked 9am December 14th into your diary for the 2018 Farewell Assembly. This is a great way to celebrate the fantastic year  and finish off the year.

Proposed Industrial Action – Thursday 29 November 2018

The Australian Education Union (AEU) is in the process of balloting its members in government schools and preschools to determine support for a ½ day strike on the morning of Thursday 29 November 2018.

The department has been advised that this ballot will not close until 4pm Monday 26 November 2018, and that schools will be able to communicate the impact of this action to families from Tuesday 27 November.

Should members of the AEU vote to undertake industrial action, the impact this action will have on learning at LNPS will vary depending on the number of members taking industrial action.

Once this is known, we will work quickly with our staff to determine whether the school will either be:

  • Open – with usual education programs, or
  • Open – with modified/limited education programs, or
  • Closed – with no education programs available

As soon as this decision is made, families will be notified to enable you to make any necessary arrangements.

Please contact the me if you have any questions regarding this information.
