Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back for Term 3. It is quite unbelievable that we have started the last half of the year.  It has been fantastic today to have everybody back at school and to hear the stories of the holidays.

This term we welcome back Ash Mooney to Sacred Heart after returning from maternity leave. She will be working as our Inclusion Support Teacher (IST) and our MaST (Mathematics Specialist Teacher) for two days each week. 

We will also be welcoming Mrs Wendy Laird to our school who will be working with our students in Library and supporting our teachers with their RFF (Relief from face to face) time.

This term we are also very privileged to have two student teachers coming to do their teaching practicums at our school. Miss Rebecca Verrier will be in K-2 for the first three weeks of this term and Miss Tahlia Morrissey will also be completing her four week practicum in K-2 in the last four weeks of this term.  We wish them both well during this time.

This week, a term calendar will be sent home to all families outlining key dates for this term. We have many opportunities for families and friends to join us in our learning this term.

Kindergarten enrolment meetings will be held next Thursday 28 July. If you know of anyone who is looking to enrol for Kindergarten next year, please encourage them to contact me at school so I can include them in meetings next week. For all current students in Transition, the Kindergarten enrolment meetings will be held during the morning and afternoon to coincide with Transition pick up and drop offs.

This Saturday 23 July will see our inaugural SHS/Purtle Plevey Clearing Sale being held at the Boggabri Showgrounds. If you have any items that you would like to have included in the sale please register them using the entry form. You can return the entry form to the school and then bring your goods to the showground early on Saturday morning (prior to 8am) or on Friday for larger items.
