Congratulations

Congratulations to Alex Conti and Mitchell Woods of Year 10 for their selection in the 2022 Waratahs Academy U16 Gen Blue side to play U16 Super Rugby.

In some more Rugby news, the College wishes to congratulate the recent achievements of Old Boy Mark Nawaqanitawase (’18). Over the past month Mark has represented Australia in the Rugby Pacific Nations Cup in Fiji. Midway through the tournament, Mark was called to fly back to Australia to join the Wallabies Squad before their third test match against England.

More recently, we were very pleased to see Mark represent Australia at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games as a member of the Australian Men’s Rugby 7’s team who unfortunately were defeated by New Zealand in the Bronze Medal match.

Well done Mark.

Summer Sport Signups

Summer signups for Baseball, Basketball and Cricket will be conducted in the coming weeks. I would encourage boys to speak with their parents/carers about the commitment required to be involved in a Summer sport. May I remind all parents/carers and boys that these signups represent a binding commitment to the entire season.

The Summer sports trials commence later this term with ISA Basketball and Cricket fixtures commencing in Term 4, while NDJCA Cricket and RHBL Baseball fixtures usually commence in September. All competitions have concluded by Week 7, Term 1 2023.

Coaches Wanted

The College wishes to invite anyone who would be available to assist with coaching over the coming Summer season. Coaches are sought for Basketball, Baseball and Cricket in both the Junior and Senior Schools. Preference will be given to those who have coaching qualifications and have had previous experience in coaching boys. Please email your expression of interest to me (anthony.calavassy@spc.nsw.edu.au) by Friday 26 August.
