SPORT REPORT

Ben Holmfield

What an amazing couple of days we had this week at the mighty Echuca East PS. Our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience were certainly on display at our Mini Olympics (Preps 1&2) and House Athletics  (grades 3-6).

Tuesday was the day for the Mini Olympics and after a very chilly start the weather improved and our young Easties shone on the track and field. The vibes were high as our little Easties jumped, balanced and ran their way to success. It was fantastic to see so many parents and special people back onsite and supporting the kids. Big shout out to our Grade 5/6 leaders for their outstanding work in leading teams and running events, the day would not be such a huge success without you.

Wednesday was the 3-6's opportunity to strut their stuff and boy oh boy did they!

After a slippery start with many students hitting the turf during the relays the kids dusted themselves off and got on with their individual events.

How proud we are when we see the kids going out of their comfort zones and taking on events is always a highlight. The support the students showed each other was exceptional.

A great couple of days and a huge thanks to staff, students, parents and special people who all contribute to make the day a success. Special thanks to Kathy Wilson who always does a power of work behind the scenes to ensure the day runs smoothly.
