Art Room News

Creativity takes courage. Henri Matisse

Hello RHPS Artists,

It was great to see the Grade 5/6 students in the art room last week as they had a catch-up session to continue working on their African animals. These animals are all amazing and unique. I can’t wait for you to see these once they are complete.

Our stoneware mugs are also now on display in the library and these can be seen at our upcoming science night.

The Preps have been busy learning about Africa. They have created lion head drawings and paintings and this week began learning about the Ndebele Houses and making their own. Eventually we will have a village each to be proud of.

The Grade 1/2 Artists have been developing their drawing skills. Their Ndebele House drawings are wonderful. They are concentrating on line and shape and their African patterns are beautiful. These 2D pieces are going to look fabulous.

There is still a month until the Lilydale & Yarra Valley Show poster competition closes. We have had some great posters made so far and there is still time if you wish to enter. Come and visit the art room and I will give you the guidelines and paper. All posters need to be given to Mrs. Granger by the 6th of September!

Have a wonderful week and keep creating.

Mrs. Granger
