Global Studies

Year 3 to 6 Flamenco Incursion

Wednesday 27th July

On Wednesday 27th July the Year 3 to 6s attended the Cultural Infusion Flamenco Incursion. This linked in with the Global Studies Spanish unit last semester. Students showed excitement and enthusiasm as they listened to Babushka explain what Flamenco is and the history of it. Babushka had everyone up and dancing, following her step-by-step Flamenco dance!

In Flamenco we learned about Spain and Spanish dancing it was very fun and the teacher was very nice and knew what dance moves to do, and she was a great dancer. We all loved it! It was so much fun! The teachers took videos of us at the end.

The teacher was very nice and a great dancer! She knew a lot about Spain and about the Flamenco, she was also very good at teaching everyone quickly and efficiently.

At the start the teacher told us to find a partner that was a girl. Everyone was dreading to decide so some people got partnered up. I was paired with a small person, but it was still really fun. I suggest you pick someone your height. It will really help when you are spinning with a partner. We all had a blast doing the flamenco dancing.
