The winter weather might be gloomy but that does not stop Weeden Heights from having fun!

Our drawing club has commenced and will be led by several of our senior students.  The drawing club runs every Monday, and it was fabulous to see so many students sign up. Each week they will learn a new drawing skill and the best part s everything is provided.  At the end of term, the students can bring their creations home for parents to appreciate. We had 16 very happy students 😊

A little rain and a lot of wind didn’t deter the junior nature club from completing their scavenger hunt activity.  With the help of two older students, they searched high and low to locate the items on the list. We even have students asking to try it on Thursday, so this is very exciting.

The junior classes have also been very busy learning mindfulness activities and how they can help to keep us calm.  The students tried doing yoga disco and there were many dance moves that I hope to see at Friday’s school disco.  They then found a nice space to relax as they were taken on a rainbow colour journey.  It was interesting to hear how many students prefer to get up and move to help them relax and there were also students who preferred the mindfulness activity.  I love that we are all different at Weeden Heights.

Until next time, stay safe and warm. But don’t forget to get outside and enjoy a little sunshine.
