Easter Liturgy
Easter is a time of joy and hope as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. On Friday 28 April, Years 1 and 2 led the school in our Easter Sunday Liturgy. This was a beautiful celebration remembering Jesus rising to new life and we were joined by many families and friends. Eggs are a symbol of new life and the eggs which we give one another on Easter Sunday remind us that we are all called to follow the example of Jesus and share in his resurrection.
As part of their Easter Unit Kindergarten have made a Resurrection Artwork for the school foyer and one for the Kindergarten classroom, to show that Jesus has risen to new life.
Whole School Mass
Our next whole school Mass is 9.30am Friday 19 May. Everyone is welcome.
Catholic Schools Week
Week 5 Sunday 21 - Friday 26 May is Catholic Schools' Week, when we take time to celebrate all of the positive things happening in Catholic Education. For us, we especially celebrate all of the positive things happening here at St Michael’s. We are definitely lucky to have such a wonderful school. On Thursday 25 May Stage 3 students will travel by bus with Mrs Underwood, Miss Rasche, Miss Summerell and Mrs Catlett to Saints Mary and Joseph Cathedral in Armidale to join with students and teachers across the Armidale Diocese in the Diocesan Mass celebrating Catholic Schools' Week. Please complete the permission note sent home today and return to school by Monday 22 May.

Later this term we will commence preparing students in Year 2 for First Reconciliation to be celebrated on Wednesday 28 June and the students in Years 3 and 4 for First Eucharist on Sunday 30 July 10.00am. In preparation for these sacraments parent information sessions will be held on:

Mini Vinnies / Catholic Earthcare Committee and Environmental Champions
Responding to Pope Francis’ call to care for our common home is something that we are very passionate about here at St Michael’s School. We are very pleased to announce that we are now a Level 3 accredited Catholic Earthcare School. Our certificate below acknowledges that the whole school has a strong commitment to ecological conversion through a documented journey of sustained, student-led change actions. Congratulations to everyone at St Michael's for your dedication and hard work in looking after the environment and caring for one another. A special note of thanks to the Mini Vinnies / Catholic Earthcare Committee who meet on Monday of each school week, working together to do good in our world and leading our ecological change - you are an inspiration for us all.
Thank you Mrs Byrnes
A big thank you to Mrs Byrnes who took the large zucchini that we grew in our vegie garden and made yummy zucchini and choc chip cookies for us. They were very delicious!
