Mother's Day BBQ
It was very pleasing to see the fantastic turn-out at our Mother's Day breakfast BBQ this morning. The weather smiled on us and we collectively managed to eat 150 bacon / egg / vegetarian rolls and drink a similar number of hot drinks and orange juice (perhaps more - I'm sure there were a few who came back for sneaky seconds).
Thanks to Jordan Adams, Myles Gaffney, Rick Templeton, Joanne Metcalfe and Daniel Webber for getting up extra early to help out cooking and serving breakfast. Thank you also to Biddick's Bakery for supplying the delicious rolls, freshly baked this morning.
We love celebrating significant dates like Mother's Day and we rely on volunteers to help us with these events. Please consider putting your name forward next time we ask for some help. It's actually good fun and very satisfying when you see the smiles on all the students' faces.
I wish a very happy Mother's Day to all the mums, step-mums, grandmas and everyone who is a mother figure to someone out there.
We all appreciate the work you do and I hope have a wonderful day on Sunday and get spoiled rotten - it's what you deserve, after all.
Working bee
A huge thank you to the Misra, Adams, Templeton, Molinaco, Ruffo, Loydell, Harris, Pervis and Greig families who braved the chilly Sunday morning weather last weekend to help us out with our working bee. (My apologies if I missed anyone - the sign in sheet got a little wet.)
We were only rained upon once or twice and we managed to spread a lot of mulch and our playgrounds are now looking in great shape. As usual, we finished with a light morning tea and a good opportunity for the kids to play and the adults to discuss the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.
