Casual Dress Day

On Friday 23 March, Frankston High School’s Casual Dress day raised $2,589 for Challenge. The day was run by the six students who attended the Gnuard-Gundidj campus of the School for Student Leadership in Term 2, 2017 as part of their Community Learning Project.

We chose Challengeas our organization to support, because they provide life changing experiences and adventures to children who are sick with cancer, and their families.

We were able to bring in a guest speaker prior to the day, Gary Sanders, who brought awareness of Challenge’s mission to our entire student body. On the day, aided by a sausage sizzle and raffle, we were able to raise over two and a half thousand dollars, exceeding all our expectations!

We want to say a huge thank you to the companies that supported us by donating prizes to the raffle, including Mike Rear, The Moonlit Sanctuary, Escape Frankston and Gravity Zone. Also, to Mrs Bahramis and Ms Burgess for their tireless efforts to assist us, as well as Mr Albiston and the entire SLC and Sports Leadership!

Being able to complete our CLP was an incredible experience, and the entire school community pitched in to help us bring the day together and make it a success. We’re so proud of being able to support Challenge, and hope you all are too!

A massive thank you to everyone who supported and helped out at the LEAD class bake sale and sausage sizzle at the recent Parent Student Teacher Conferences.  The Semester One LEAD Class took part in baking for the sale, as well as planning and running the sale, so a special thank you to them and any support they received.

Overall, it was very successful, with the LEAD class raising a total of $962.45.

The LEAD class would also like to thank The Little Olive coffee cart, which donated $80 of their proceeds to our cause.

All money raised will go towards World Vision. World Vision is an international charity based organisation that supports those in need in a variety of issues around the world.  The LEAD class would also like to give a huge thanks to Mrs Bahramis for making all this possible!  Thank you again to everyone who supported us on the day.

Congratulations to Mrs Louise Goodwin (Lukas Goodwin - 8K) for winning the raffle.

The students had a great time meeting other new students in other schools and a lovely morning tea with our Governor General.  Thanks to Mrs Debbie James for organising this.

Congratulations to Calvin Gu on winning the Victorian Video Award for “One Day in the Life of an International Student”. There were many competitors and we are very proud of his achievement representing our school.
