RESILIENT, DETERMINED EFFORTS WITNESSED @ DENDY PARK

What a brilliant morning it was for all our Year 3-6 students at Dendy Park on Wednesday for our Inter-House Cross Country event.  There were quite a few pre-race nerves being managed upon arrival, but once that starter’s beep was heard, those butterflies were soon moved on!

Congratulations to all our 12/13y, 11y, 10y and 8/9y olds that gave it their best within their 2km or 3km races.  We loved hearing the students cheer on their peers as they gave their final burst of effort over that last 100m!

HUGE THANK YOU to all the parents and family members that assisted on the day.  It was so wonderful to know our students felt so supported as they ran their race around the entire park.

A massive shout out to Mrs Thompson’s 7am set up crew: Selena Webb, Lia Nunn and Susan Rowe.  As the saying goes; ‘many hands make light work’- and that they did!

Congratulations goes to our winning House; being awarded to XAVIER (red house) for accumulating the most points over the 8 races.  Xavier House captains Imogen C, Joshua M and Jessica L were presented with the Cross Country Winning Perpetual Shield.

The top 10 place-getters from each of the 8 age-groups will now be invited to represent our school at the Dendy District Cross Country event; to be held next Friday 5th May at Bald Hill Park in Clarinda.   We wish them all the very best with their preparations for this event.
