Principals' Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable weekend with family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful weather we are experiencing at the moment.

Mother's Day

Last Friday we celebrated Mother's Day and the wonderful women in our lives. We had a marvellous celebration that started with a whole school Mass and then continued into the hall for a beautiful morning tea for all our guests. It was exciting to see our students celebrating this special occasion with their loved ones as they visited the classrooms. There was definitely an abundance of smiles and a buzz of excitement as the students shared their work and showed off their classrooms. This is just a small way of displaying our gratitude for all you do in our lives.

Thank you to our wonderful Parents and Friends Association for coordinating  the Mother's Day Stall and organising an array of special gifts for the students to purchase on the day. It was delightful to see the enthusiasm, satisfaction and joy on their faces after deciding on a gift to show their appreciation for the fabulous female role models in their lives.

On behalf of our school community, a huge thank you to everyone involved on the day.

Catholic Schools Week

Next week the Armidale Diocese will celebrate Catholic Schools Week which provides us with an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the important work of Catholic education. Since the very first Catholic school was established in New South Wales in 1820, countless children and young people have benefitted from the dedication and commitment of faith-filled staff in Catholic schools. The theme for Catholic Schools Week is 'Renew with Hope!'

St Joseph's will be holding our own celebrations next Thursday including a liturgy at 12.30pm in the school hall followed by a picnic lunch in the school grounds. On Thursday 25th May we will attend the Armidale Diocesan Catholic Schools Week Mass at the Armidale Cathedral with our School Captains and Vice-Captains. More information regarding these events will be sent out to parents via Compass later this week.

Finally, we will be away this week from Tuesday 16th May to Friday 19th May attending the Australian Catholic Schools Principals Conference in Wollongong. In our absence any queries or concerns can be directed to Mrs Bearman.

May God bless you and your family,
