Equestrian
2023 Interhouse Dressage
Thursday 8th June 2023
Another big week at the Equestrian Centre as we power towards our Inter-House Dressage competition on 8 June. Students have excitedly been practising their tests during horsemanship lessons and many have a new found appreciation for the complexity of riding an accurate circle.
Entries for the dressage test closed Thursday June 1st; however, if students can get their entries in by close of business Friday 2 June (tomorrow!), they will still be accepted. There is a cost of $13 to accompany the test.
Year 8/9 Equine students have been enhancing their skills this week, learning to tie a rope halter during class time. It was an interesting exercise the students unconsciously considering the anatomy of a horse as they tied knots and altered them for correct placement on the face. I can’t wait to see the photos of many happy horses with their student made halters!
Year 8/9 Equine students proudly display their hand tied halters.
Finally, we are hosting a jump practise day on Saturday 3 June from 9am. Details are attached in the flyer.
Hope to see everyone there,
NERRIDA PROSSER
