EISTEDDFOD

Next week is a big week for our Junior School musicians with the 59th Hamilton Eisteddfod. The Hamilton Eisteddfod is an annual competition for performers in the disciplines of Music, Dance, Speech and Drama. The event attracts competitors and audience members from throughout regional Victoria, Melbourne and interstate.  Competitors are assessed by high-calibre adjudicators, and have the opportunity to perform, learn and meet with like-minded students and artists. Thursday sees all our Prep to Year Six students take the stage in the choir and tuned percussion sections. Students will also be in solo and group instrumental competitions throughout the week. I wish them all the very best and thank our wonderful music department for their efforts in preparing the Junior School students.

BIGGEST MORNING TEA

Congratulations to Year 5 students Tayla Williams and Ruby Price for their efforts in coordinating and running the Biggest Morning Tea at the Junior School last week. The girls set out to raise much needed funds for the Cancer Council and were also able to link this to the Volunteering component of the Level 1 Compass Award. $355 was raised via the morning tea and the girls raised over $1500 in donations .

Push-Up Challenge

The 2023 Push-Up Challenge is back. Several class and individual teachers have signed up to complete 3,144 push-ups in 23 days. The event is a great platform to improve your physical health but it also brings awareness to the importance of mental health in our communities. June 1st is the start of the challenge. Interested parents are encouraged to sign up and join the Junior School team. Please email Mrs. Povey if would like to join us.
