Senior Boarding Dinner

What's life like after boarding? Alumni Boarders Jonte Fletcher, Jessie Middlemiss and Matt Tomlinson were special guests last night at the annual Senior Boarders' Dinner and gave some valuable insight into their career paths and where they are now. The goal of the annual dinner is to inspire students and reinforce the importance of community service as well as connect our current boarders with Calrossy alumni.  There is a full photo gallery on The HUB.

Annual Newcastle Shopping Trip

We are delighted to inform you that our recent trip to Newcastle with the boarding students was a resounding success! It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore and enjoy new experiences while strengthening their relationships. We are thrilled to share the highlights of our trip with you.

First and foremost, we would like to commend our students for their exemplary behaviour throughout the entire excursion. They represented Calrossy Anglican School with pride and demonstrated excellent manners and respect towards both the staff and the public. We are incredibly proud of their conduct, which is a testament to their character and the values we instil within our boarding community.

One of the highlights of the trip was our visit to Hunter Ice Skating Rink. The students had an absolute blast learning to glide across the ice, embracing the challenge of skating and showing off their skills (Or lack thereof, as there were plenty or sore bottoms at the end of the day!). It was heart-warming to witness their determination, particularly those who had never done it before, and joy as they supported and encouraged one another during this exhilarating activity.

If awards were given to our boarders for particular categories, they would be: “Most Laps and Fastest Skater: Ivy Shearer”, “Most Supportive Senior: Brianna Clark”, “Most Determined: Martin Babic” and “Most Country Ice Skater: Miles Smith”

In addition to the ice-skating adventure, our students thoroughly enjoyed their time at Charlestown Square. The shopping centre provided an excellent opportunity for them to explore a variety of stores, indulge in some retail therapy, and make purchases that hopefully brought them joy. It was wonderful to see the students displaying their independence and making responsible choices, but also not afraid to sit and chat with their boarding supervisors, strengthening their relationships.

At the end of our shopping trip, Mr Chambers felt that it would be too much of a shame if we did not visit the coast without setting foot on the beach. Despite making the trip an even longer day, we were rewarded with the incredible opportunity to witness dolphins swimming in the ocean. We are grateful to have shared such a unique experience with our students, connecting them with the beauty of nature and the wonders of the marine world.

We must also express our gratitude to the boarding staff who accompanied the students on this trip, Mr Joshua Pryde, Kim Burgmann and Jennifer Brock. Their dedication and care ensured that the students were safe, engaged, and able to fully immerse themselves in the various activities. Their commitment to the well-being and happiness of our students is commendable and greatly appreciated.

As we drove back to Tamworth, the energy and excitement among the students were palpable. Mr Chambers and Mr Pryde were treated to many a sing-along from the students and were happy to reflect that the current generation realise that the music of our more senior generations are clearly superior. These experiences contribute to the sense of community and belonging within our boarding family, and we are thankful for the friendships that continue to grow and strengthen.

We hope that the students' enthusiasm and positive experiences from this trip will continue to inspire and motivate them throughout their time at Calrossy Anglican School. These outings not only provide enjoyable moments but also valuable opportunities for personal growth, self-discovery, and building resilience.

Thank you for your ongoing support and entrusting us with the care and education of your children. We look forward to sharing more exciting adventures with them in the future.
