Principals Message

Dear parents and carers,

This week schools all over the State will celebrate Catholic Schools Week. The theme is Renew with Hope. Our theme finds its existence because of the announcement of Pope Francis that the Church in 2025 will celebrate a Jubilee Year. The Jubilee theme for this special year of grace is ‘Pilgrims of Hope’.

We are proud of our Catholic tradition and of what we do at St Xavier’s in regards to learning and wellbeing. We value the way parents and carers work with us to bring about the best learning environment for our children.

Communication between the school and home and home and school is so important. If any parent or carer has a concern you absolutely should contact the teachers. We are here to serve and we need to work as a team to support the children.

Sometimes parents apologise for coming in with what they deem as a small issue. No concern is too small for us, we need to know! Our job is to listen, support, act and stay in touch.

If you have spoken to the teachers and still need some advice you absolutely should come and see me. Your children are my highest priority and they need to feel safe, cared for and valued and they need to be learning. If you have any ongoing concerns the only way we can improve the situation is to talk about it.

Encourage your children to seek help from the teachers on the playground the minute they have an issue. This enables us to intervene and support quickly and then touch base with you. Unless a child tells us they have a problem, we won't know. They will be listened to and supported really well as long as we know!

Thanks to those of you who are proactive and reach out to us with concerns, you are not a burden, you are welcome.

Kind regards,

Jen
