Vocational Major Update

Community Impact Projects

A big THANK YOU to all of our senior Vocational Major students for the Community Impact Projects they ran over the last fortnight. The year 12’s wonderful achievements include; creating school lunches for those in need, donation collections for a range of charities, fund raising for the Red Shield Appeal, volunteering their time at community organisations and renovating services in need. We are so proud of you, you are all superstars!

Year 11s are working towards their Careers Expo which will see them educate the Year 12s on possible TAFE courses and work placements they can enter post school. This wonderful event will be Tuesday 6th June, all Year 11 students must attend in order to meet their WRS outcomes.

FINAL DAY FOR SEMESTER 1 COURSE WORK:

All Year 11 and 12 Semester 1 course work must be submitted prior to 21st July to receive an S for Unit 1 or 3. Please have a conversation with your son/ daughter regarding their coursework and reach out to their classroom teacher if they require any support

Structured Workplace Learning (SWL):

Most students will be coming up the completion of their 20 days of SWL with their current employer. Students should start looking for a new workplace. Please keep an eye on the SWL Portal https://workplacements.education.vic.gov.au/ or chat with classmates who they may be able to swap work placements with. If they get stuck students should work with their mentor.

If a student does not have a work placement they are required to attend school to work with our Vocational Major tutors to catch up on work or to help them find a placement.
