Foundation - Year 2 House Cross Country

Even though the rain stayed away for our Foundation to Year 2 Cross Country, all students braved the cold and did an awesome job running and cheering on their friends.   Congratulations to all our winners.

Humanities

Students really enjoyed learning about Boonwurrung culture and language in the Humanities incursion today.  We learned about the deep connection to Country Boonwurrung people have felt for thousands of years.  Our presenter, Jaeden Williams, shared stories about Boonwurrung beliefs through lots of engaging story telling.

Jade Kennedy

Congratulations to Jade who's Indigenous Football guernsey design has been selected for St Kilda FC to wear during this week's Sir Douglas Nicholls round.  Jade is the artist who created the mural visible from the office entrance in 2019.  You can see Jade's work below on Past, present, future: The story behind St Kilda 2023 Indigenous guernsey.

Congratulations Juliet

Juliet passed a Judo practical and knowledge test called a 'grading' at the Taketani Judo Academy.  Derren who is the secretary of Judo Victoria says this is no easy task and requires a great deal of practice.  The grade that Juliet was awarded was a Junior Yellow belt. Congratulations Juliet.  Keep Aiming High!

Walk Safely to School Day - TODAY

CEPS participated in the ‘Walk Safely To School Day’ today.  It is an event to help educate, encourage and motivate students to be walking safely to school. The day aims for students to develop exercise routines, build on environmental knowledge of decreasing carbon emissions from driving and embedding students with road safety rules.

A huge thank you to Southland Woolworths and Adam (Deb Butler's son) from Coles for providing us with fresh fruit. Students were able to collect a piece of fruit on arrival after their big walk to school.
