Year 7 News

Welcome back to term 4.

It was wonderful to have our Year 7 students return on Monday 12th October after twenty weeks of remote learning. An experience for parents, students and staff that will be etched into our memories forever!

I would like to thank all Year 7 students and staff for their preparation and presentation during our Year 7 Celebration Day on Thursday 22nd October. Hopefully parents enjoyed the information and the presentation from the Year 7 students.

Our librarians, Ms Clare Murayama and Ms Megan Gatt, have been busy organising Book Week (19-23 October). Thank you Clare and Megan for arranging our Junior School incursion, a virtual visit from author Jack Heath on Wednesday 21st October. A wonderful experience for our Year 7s.

Finally, Ms Ballingall and I would like to acknowledge all the hard work of our parents and staff in supporting our Year 7 students. As always, please feel free to contact us with any news and information.

Year 8 News

It is with great excitement that we welcome back our Year 8 students to on-site learning. We have missed you!

A big thankyou to all the parents who have done their best with at home learning.

We need to give a massive congratulations to Harshitha Meenakshisundaram for receiving a Merit award for her Ocean Creative Writing piece, as well as Amelia Sujana receiving a Minor Bursary award for her Jigsaw Puzzle piece. Well done to both of you.

Year 9 News

Welcome back Year 9s! It’s been a long year. The latest progress reports are out; if you have any questions make sure to contact your teachers and find out where you can improve. We want everyone to have the smoothest transition into next year.

The Year 9 SEAL class won’t be having exams like they usually do at the end of the year. Your teachers might arrange something in your normal class to report on your level of proficiency.

Quite a few students have been working on modified timetables during remote learning. We’d like to remind you that this week you’ll be attending all your classes. Your teachers understand that everyone is coming from a different entry point, and they will support you from wherever you are.

During transition this year, there is going to be an emphasis on preventing cyberbullying, and how to engage with other people online. We have booked an incursion through Project Rockit to support our Year 9s with this. More details about this event will be given closer to date.

We’re really proud of your effort so far Year 9s. We've been looking forward to having you back for months.

You’ve shown a lot of resilience getting through this year, well done.
