International Student News

2020 has been an unexpected year for every one of us with much uncertainty. While all of us have been impacted more or less by COVID-19, international students have found this time especially challenging. We still have 3 internationals students in China waiting for the border restrictions to be lifted and to enter Australia to resume their studies.

Meanwhile, the international students in Australia have been feeling lucky they are onshore in time to keep up with their studies, though unfortunately they have been in lockdown for longer than anyone else in the world. They have been feeling anxious about the risk of contracting virus and feeling lonely due to not being able to travel home during the holidays.

Despite negative emotions, our homestay hosts have been constantly supporting our homestay students. They are trying their best to meet our students’ needs; keeping their homes nice and warm through the winter and preparing hearty, nourishing meals for our students.

Jacqueline, a host of one our international students messaged us saying:  "Jeff is now settling back in to school and he is having his VCE Chinese exam this week! I will give him Healthy lunch boxes to keep him fit and focused!"

We sincerely appreciate our homestay hosts’ support and care for our students in their homes.
