Year 7

As we approach the end of Term Three, I would like to continue to thank you for all the efforts you have put in to support your son’s learning during this difficult time. Our Year 7 Staff have been really encouraged by the dialogue that has taken place throughout the remote Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews period.

I would like to take the opportunity to give you an update on some of the extra-curricular activities that are taking place within the Year Level to promote engagement:

Footy Tipping

At the start of the AFL season (a very, very long time ago) we organised a Year Level Footy Tipping Competition in which we have 50 participants including some of our Year 7 Staff. The current Top 10 standings after Round 12 are: Mr Nats (74), Mr Thomas (73), Orlando M (73), Charlie G (71), Matthew S (71), Harry A (69), Campbell G (65), Harrison B (65), Archer G (65) and Jack M (64). We look forward to seeing how the competition shapes at the end of the season.

Year 7.3 Trivia

In Mr Thomas’ homeroom he is conducting trivia every morning about the school. From all accounts it’s getting very competitive. As of this morning the class winners are Harry B (4 wins), Jamie Mc, Elias D. Jayden P, Michael C and Jack S (all on 1 win each).

Fantasy Premier League

As a lot of you may be aware, I am massive fan of the English Premier League. As members of the SJC community I am more than happy for friends and family to enter the competition. If you are interested in participating in the SJC Fantasy Premier League for the 2020/2021 competition you can join by signing up at https://fantasy.premierleague.com. Once you have joined enter our school’s mini-league using the following league code: 3q1kvr. We have past and present students who participate.

There are many more programs going around the school at the moment, this is just a small snapshot. I look forward to continuing our partnership throughout the remainder of Term Three and beyond, with the hope to be back in the classroom sooner rather than later.
