R U Ok Seniors?

During the peak of Covid restrictions and the requirement to socially distance, many seniors felt isolated and disconnected. Community members have reported that there is still a need to reach out and connect with seniors as many seniors are still not feeling ok. This workshop will explain some signs and symptoms of mental illness in seniors, and will teach participants about how to have a R U Ok conversation with a loved one. It is hoped that this workshop will give people the tools to have a conversation that can create hope and change and provide practical solutions to assist family and friends who may be struggling. This workshop is intended for seniors, children of seniors, volunteers and workers who work with seniors.  This is a free webinar run via zoom.

Wednesday 7 October

6:30pm

Are Your Teens Ok?

This event has been prompted by the recent and tragic suicides we have had within Ku-ring-gai over the last few weeks. It has been a really hard year for students, especially senior students, so this workshop has been developed to give parents tools to connect with their teens to find out if their teens are ok. The session will be hosted by a psychologist who will discuss the signs and symptoms of when teens may not be ok. She will also explain how you can meaningfully connect with your teens so that when you ask them if they are ok, you have a better chance of them opening up. This is a fee webinar run via zoom.
