Faith and Wellbeing Assistant Principal's Report
Last week we had our first ever whole school Zoom Assembly. It was great to be together as best we could as a community at this time and acknowledge the students who have worked hard in Semester 1, 2020 to finish in the Top 10 in their Year level for academic achievement. Well done to these students. It was also wonderful to be able to see some fantastic work from our Dance Students, Aerobics Team and hear a little from our Debaters and Student Action Team. Well done to all the students and staff who presented. We will continue to be creative in finding ways to celebrate success and the community.
End of Term 3, 2020
We are getting to the stage where the end of Term 3 is in sight. It is a time when we ask students to persevere, to continue to strive and work to the best of their ability in the weeks remaining. Our classes conclude on Thursday 17 September 2020. We are awaiting an announcement from the Victorian Government regarding when the return to face to face learning will be commencing and we will keep you informed as we learn more.
Review
Over this term the College has undergone an extensive Review process. It has given us an opportunity to reflect on the community that we are blessed to be a part of. It seems clear to us that we have wonderful young people that form our community and that there is a special spirit within the Nazareth Community.
When I supervise the students’ online learning at school, I look and see up to a dozen different teachers and Virtual Classrooms as I walk around and look at the screens of our students working from school. It is truly amazing to see these teachers, predominantly at home, working so hard to keep up the learning for our students and to see them teaching the students in their own homes, working away in their own space. I still marvel to think of this and I am amazed at the great efforts and response from students, staff and families at this time to keep up the learning. It is a massive effort and a huge congratulations to all.
A reminder that we continue to desire to work in close partnership, so please contact the relevant staff member should there be things that are impacting your child’s learning that we would benefit from knowing and be able to support them. Or if there are any issues or challenges that you would like to share with us so we can offer some support. We are here to work together and we are very keen to support in any way we can.
