Friendly reminder - sun protection times have already started
Although it may still be cold, Victoria’s UV levels are on the rise so please check the daily local sun protection times to see when you need to be SunSmart. The sun protection times are a forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology for the time of day UV levels are forecast to reach 3 or higher in your location. At these levels, sun protection (hat, clothing, sunscreen, shade and, if practical, sunglasses) is recommended for all skin types.
Sun protection times are available via:
- the free SunSmart app
- the free SunSmart widget (add it to your service’s website)
- the Bureau of Meteorology website’s UV and sun protection page
- MyUV
- So please remember when outdoors, check the sun protection times and use sun protection accordingly. For more information for families please check out by clicking here
SunSmart recognises what a difficult time this has been for everyone. SunSmart has loads of free, fun and interactive resources to use and download for all year levels from early childhood through to primary and secondary school. Please check out our resources at sunsmart.com (click on this text)
IMPORTANT information regarding closure of a school crossing
Council regularly reviews the crossing service and we wish to advise as part of these reviews the crossing located at the following site:
Plenty Road, Mill Park (on corner of Mayfield Drive)
has been identified as no longer meeting the VicRoads warrants to require the crossing to be covered with a school crossing supervisor.
Closure of this crossing will take effect before school returns next Term (Monday 5th October, 2020).
As one of the schools possibly affected by this closure, can you please provide an update to your parents to ensure they can make other
arrangements to use other crossings nearby. However, this site is controlled by intersection lights to assist pedestrians to cross the road.
A request will be forwarded shortly to our works Department to remove the red/white posts and the line marking at this location during
the school holiday period.
The existing crossing supervisor will be advised shortly that they will be relocated to an alternate site effective Monday 5th October 2020.
If you have any further concerns, please feel free contact me.

100 Hundred Days of Prep
During Term 3, while learning from home, our wonderfully resilient Prep students celebrated their 100th Day of School milestone! The day was filled with fun activities that centred around the number 100. Each class had a 100th day class party via WebEx that involved dress ups, dancing and lots of fun and laughter!
Thank you to all our wonderful Prep parents who have supported our little legends as they navigate this exciting adventure!!
