Principal's Message

A Prayer for Forgiveness

Dear Lord,

I thank You for the power of forgiveness, and I choose to forgive everyone who has hurt me. Help me bless those who have hurt me. Help me walk in righteousness, peace, and joy, demonstrating Your life here on earth. I choose to be kind and compassionate, forgiving others, just as You forgave me.

Amen.

School Board – Marketing Sub-Committee

In recent weeks, the School Board’s Marketing Sub-Committee has been working collaboratively with the school’s Leadership Team to refresh the school’s visual brand, in particular, the school crest.

The current school brand has, over the past decade, undergone many changes, resulting in a range of inconsistent crests. For this reason, and to embody the school’s future strategic direction, the OLA Board Marketing Sub-Committee has been charged with creating one new crest to bring consistency to the school brand and to drive us forward as a community. It will of course, also be sympathetic to OLA’s strong history and Dominican roots.

An email introducing the new crest and explaining the evolution of the school brand will be sent to all parents early next week.

Sacrament of Penance

Yesterday, our Year 3 students and Parish candidates participated in a Reconciliation Retreat Day. The retreat was facilitated by Karl and Brigid from Faith Retreat, and saw the children engage in activities and discussions to deepen their understanding of receiving the Sacrament of Penance.

In the evening, Stephen Harris from CEWA led the children and their parents in a reflection of the meaning of the sacrament and how it relates to every day life. We wish our candidates all the best for their First Reconciliation on Thursday evening at 7pm.
