Term 2 Overview

Argus Community

This term, the Argus community will be exploring dance in Performing Arts. Students will aim to move in a steady rhythm to actions such as walking, marching, jumping, and twisting. Throughout the term, students will have the opportunity to improvise movement and create dance actions in response to different stories and songs.

 

Xenica Community

This term, the Xenica community will be learning about dance in Performing Arts. Students will understand how to safely demonstrate different movements in the space. They will collaborate with others to express their ideas and use a variety of dynamic qualities. Students will also learn choreography to a routine and present it to an audience.

 

Achilles Community

This term, the Achilles community will be focussing on presenting a whole class drama performance in Performing Arts. Students will experiment with the drama elements to bring their character to life. They will participate in a variety of improvisation activities to explore space, movement and vocal expression.

 

Ulysses Community

This term, the Ulysses community will be working on presenting small group drama performances in Performing Arts. Students will collaborate with others to express their ideas in response to scripted drama. They will develop their understanding of vocal and movement techniques and apply them to their character in the scene. Students will also incorporate stagecraft elements, such as costume and props to enhance their performance.
