Sustainability Report

Dear Readers,
What a wonderful, yet cold and chilly term it has been! The student team were a little unlucky towards the end when trying to work in the Veggie Patch - click here for a short video of what we tried to endure. Alas, although our students are persistent and even told me I wouldn’t melt in the downpour, my advice was to abort!! If you’re interested in volunteering your time in the garden (Friday fortnightly), please don’t hesitate to contact me. Watch this space - we will keep you posted!
World Environment Day (Week) went well, where we were able to showcase some of the student learning about Air Pollution in Assembly. If you would like to find out more about this topic, the website is: https://www.worldenvironmentday.global/ or get involved by adding comments on our Padlet! Simply scan the code, click on the background and add a pledge for our environment, answering the topic “What will you do to help our environment?”
Seeking volunteers/specialists who would be willing to offer some time to share their knowledge around anything animals, plants or biodiversity with our students! I am looking for specialists in these fields to assist with our biodiversity goals this year (e.g. presentation, workshop). Any native plant donations will be also much appreciated for this event. Please email the school with your contact details and I will contact you to discuss further.
Our Sustainability celebration for Term 3, will be National Tree Day. More details to follow. Thank you to Kingston Council - Last year they donated over 100 plants for this day. Any plant donations from family/friends will also be gratefully received (please leave at the office).
For those embracing the Victorian winter, stay cool. And to those embracing warmer climates, I have no words!!
Enjoy your holidays.
