Living at Lockington

The MITS Class of 2019 have really settled into life at Lockington, forming strong friendships and enjoying their time in Richmond.

Over the past three weeks we have continued to explore Melbourne experiencing many firsts such as catching a train and tram for the first time. The students have participated in a tour of the MCG, been ten-pin bowling, swam at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre and played at the beach in Elwood with many Alumni students.

At Lockington we have hosted boarders from Huntingtower School where Shaniya and Kenita from the class of 2017 attend, and the Governor General of Australia Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife Lady Lynne Cosgrove.

Footy Training with Richmond Junior Football club has also started with all students participating in the initial training sessions on a Sunday afternoon. After school there continues to be many activities including homework at St. Kevin’s as the students, basketball, football and many games with the favourites being Connect 4 and Uno.

In the coming weeks the students are looking forward to attending the first AFL match of season 2019 between Richmond and Carlton and trying out the trampoline park Bounce!
