Wellbeing

Hello, we are your Wellbeing leaders for 2020 and both of us are extremely excited for the opportunities in the year ahead.

This year we plan on expanding our focus, connecting with the community and introducing more school based activities. We are both passionate about creating a happy, safe school environment for every student, where everyone has the opportunity to shine.

If any students have ideas, suggestions or just want a chat, please feel free to contact us!.

Teal Ribbon Day

Our Wellbeing Leaders, Ruby Goward and Eva Wells, this week attended an afternoon tea to support Teal Ribbon Day, a day where Ovarian Cancer is at the forefront of people's conversations.

Students from many Hobart schools listened to the story of Mrs Jo Harris, a courageous woman who received the news last year that she had ovarian cancer, a fight that at this stage she is winning

The Honorable Elise Archer MP spoke about the importance of talking about this cancer and hoped that the students would return to their schools and spread the message about listening to one's body, and if something isn't right then go and see a doctor.

Ovarian cancer is the eighth most common cancer affecting women in Australia, and there is currently no early detection test for it. For more information, visit: www.ovariancancer.net.au
