  • Earth is part of a system of planets orbiting around a star (the Sun)

  • Scientific understandings, discoveries and inventions are used to inform personal and community decisions and to solve problems that directly affect people’s lives

Earth and space sciences

  • Sudden geological changes or extreme weather conditions can affect Earth’s surface

Ethical Capability Content Descriptors

Understanding of concepts

  • Discuss how ethical principles can be used as the basis for action, considering the influence of world views and philosophical thought on these principles
  • Examine how problems may contain more than one ethical issue

The Solar System - Themes: Students investigate how Earth is part of a system of planets orbiting around a star (the sun).
