Grade 1

Learning, Creating and Reflecting

‘We’re proud of you Grade 1!’

During the last 6 weeks Grade 1 and their parents/carers have done an amazing job with home learning. We’ve been really impressed with how their digital technology skills have improved while using seesaw as a platform for home learning!

We’d like to share some of their work and achievements with you.

We have been learning how to retell a story using our fingers. We have also been very busy learning our codes, we have been practising them every day

and we now know more than 30!

We have been representing addition and subtraction in a variety of ways and sometimes we even got our siblings involved!

We have been creating maps and giving directions. Check out these digital skills!

We’ve also been working hard in writing! We’ve been learning to write a complete recount that includes a title, orientation, events in order and a conclusion. We’ve also been learning to write explanation texts!

For our unit of inquiry we investigated different processes. Students were asked to show their understanding of different processes by creating flowcharts.

Reflecting was an important part of every day.  We always shared a speck of gold to show gratitude and remind ourselves that even on bad days there is always something good to be found. Here are a few snippets!
