This could include jogging, running, skipping or practicing ball skills. We have included some links with additional activities and Mrs Travis' workouts from home. (Parent Tip - the workouts can be repeated and your child can choose and decide how many repetitions of an exercise they do) . Children and parents can actively get involved and exercise together.

Performing Arts - Thursday
GRADE 2- Week 6
Hi Grade 2s,
I hope everything is going well with your home learning in Performing Arts.
For today’s lesson, you’re going to need your notebook (or paper) and a pencil.
Last week, for Task 4, I asked you to write some questions that you could ask Mr Giant in order to get to know him a little better. For today’s lesson, you’re going to need those questions. If you didn’t manage to write any questions last week, then you need to write some before you begin today’s lessons. Just a few questions will do (3-4). Remember to write open-ended questions to help you get the most information from the giant about what happened or how he feels about everything.
Task 1: You are going to take on the role of Mr. Giant. If possible, ask another family member (Mum, Dad, or a brother or sister) to ask you the questions that you wrote last week. Your job is to answer those questions in-role (as the character of) the giant.
Think: How will you change your voice to be the giant? How will you change your body language and facial expressions to show what the giant is thinking or feeling?
Task 2: You’re going to create something called a ‘Role-on-the-wall’ for the giant. ‘Role-on-the-wall’ is a technique in Drama that helps us to understand a character a little better, and to think about what kind or character/person they are. Follow the steps below: (I’ve also attached an example below for you to see how to present your work)
- Draw an outline of a body/ gingerbread man shape in your notebook, or on paper (see the example below to help you).
- Around the outside of your body shape, write words that describe the giant: what does the giant look like? What kind of things might you hear him say?
- On the inside of your body shape, write some words that describe our opinion of the giant: What do you think about the giant? What kind of person do you think he is?
Remember: You are doing your ‘Role-on-the-wall’ about the giant now that you have seen both sides of the story. The words or phrases you write are to do with how YOU see the giant. There are no wrong answers.
Here's the example to help you:
