CHANGE OF PREFERENCE SUPPORT

Results for VCE and the ATAR are being released online from 7am on Thursday 16th December. Students are encouraged to access these as soon as possible, as for those intending on applying for university offers, time is of the essence. Change of Preference closes on VTAC on Monday 20th December (4pm). 

Our college will be holding COP support sessions for all Yr 12 students GSSC Wanganui campus (in the Senior Learning Centre) and McGuire campus (in the Senior Centre) from 10am to 4pm. The Career Practitioners and Neighbourhood leaders will be on hand during this time to help explain to students the results they've achieved, discuss current course preferences and explore further options. It will be critical that students use this opportunity so that they can be assured of making the best decisions possible.

 

TAFE APPLICATIONS

Applications are open for most TAFE institutes and private providers. Competitive courses may have early closing dates so it’s advisable to start your application as soon as possible.

Art and ocean conservation

The Science Without Borders® Challenge is an international contest that engages students and teachers in ocean conservation through art. You will create a piece of art that illustrates one or more actions that governments, non-profits, park managers, and indigenous communities can take to preserve coral reefs using a ridge to reef approach to conservation.

Design, marketing, advertising

The Financial Wellbeing Youth Design Challenge is for young people who are passionate about design and would like to help improve the financial wellbeing of Australian youth. Creative Arts 

Bright Awards – run by Billy Blue College of Design at Torrens University. Entries are open for students in years 10-12 and their school to win monetary prizes to help kick start creative dreams. Entries close Monday 15 November, https://bit.ly/3kETqzl

The team at My Career Match have developed a free program for high school students that is broken into five key categories:

Make sure you tell as many people as possible that you are looking for work as often employers rely on ‘word of mouth’ to recruit for their positions.
