Year 4 News

We have had a range of onsite and off-site activities over the last two weeks, on the way to bringing the term to a close. Students have been very adaptable under the different conditions and have built skills in resilience, kindness and empathy.  Well done Year 4 students, we are so proud of you all.

End of Year Reports

We have been assessing students in preparation for end of year reports and the Curriculum Day next Monday 29 November. Students are completing ACER testing, moderated writing and Torch reading comprehension, showing off all that they’ve learnt this semester.

Prep Buddies

The highlight of the week was the announcement of prep buddies. Year 4’s have been preparing their letters and Christmas stories for flip grids and were very excited to FINALLY add a name to their letters on Tuesday.

It is safe to say that they are absolutely BUSTING to meet their buddies and this will come to fruition on Wednesday 8th December!

Circus Skills

We also had our phys-ed incursion, “Circus Skills” on Monday. Take a look below at the many and varied tricks and tips that the Year 4’s learnt.

E-Smart

E-Smart week is this week too and we’ve learnt about being a digital citizen - responsible, strong, showing empathy and integrity. Here are some of the shields the Year 4’s produced. We think you’d agree their take on it is quite impressive!

Robotics

Mrs Graham has been busy in the Science room with the Year 4’s concocting science experiments and supporting robotics. The students are thoroughly engaged and committed to their learning during this time – it’s wonderful to witness. Take a look!

Being the last newsletter of the year we thank you for the privilege of teaching your children and entrusting us with their care.

It has been another tumultuous year, but we look forward to better and brighter times and look forward to seeing our students flourish in the senior school.

We wish those students leaving us at the end of this year all the best.

Have a safe and enjoyable break.
