Music

Juniors

Preps are learning more about the sea through songs, games and dances in music.

A favourite circle game is ‘Charlie Over The Ocean’, and we change the name every time for whoever is ‘up’.

Some of the dances and movement activities have been: using scarves for ‘Song of the Sea’, and following the steps for ‘ A Pirate You Shall Be’, ‘Surfin’ USA’, ‘Seaweed Dance’, ‘Under the Sea’, and ‘Calypso’.

Continuing to learn about pitch, they experimented with the Boom whackers and found that longer tubes had lower sounds than the shorter ones.

YEAR 1

1B and 1D enjoyed performing their percussion item they had been practicing. Well done everyone!

YEAR 2

We are so fortunate to have a set of Bamboo Tamboo instruments at BNPS. These originated in the West Indies and are used as rhythm instruments.

This term, students have enjoyed singing together again. Some favourites have been: ‘Together We Can Change The World’, ‘Good To Be Alive’, ‘Kindness is Free’ and ‘Grateful’.

Year 2 have also been listening to a different part of ‘Carnival of the Animals’ each week. For ‘Aquarium’ week, we did a lovely floaty movement activity!

Mia from 2B performed beautifully for her class.

Seniors
