Junction 142 Christmas Hampers 2

Christmas Kindness

As you all know it has been a particularly difficult year for most people with the recent COVID lockdown; with many people within our community experiencing the lasting impacts of sudden disruptions to financial stability, employment, secure housing, relationships and social connections.

Junction 142 in Katoomba is a community hub, where the Blue Mountains Food Rescue operates by preparing meals and serving them or distributing them to people in need by offering the Open Table brunch throughout the week. Another component of the hub is providing a place for people in need to shower, do their laundry and access temporary accommodation.

Over the last few years, Blue Mountains Grammar School has taken pride in providing food, clothing and other donations via our Christmas Hampers to Junction 142.

This year Pitt House will be organising the Christmas Hampers as a school–wide fundraiser. We are asking families from our Wentworth Falls and Springwood Junior School Campuses, along with our Wentworth Falls Senior Campus to please bring in items to donate towards the Christmas Hampers.

Please see the attached flyer for a list of items that you can donate. The Christmas Hampers will be collected on Thursday, 2nd December.

In the past, Junction 142 staff have expressed their deep gratitude for Blue Mountains Grammar School’s generous donations. The items within the hampers have made a significant and positive impact on the most vulnerable individuals and families. Please give generously again this year and let’s make a real difference by collectively supporting those in need within our local community.
