We had a successful season, with our First XI finishing equal third in the Division 1 competition. Our Open C team finished equal second, and our Junior As showed exceptional growth in their Football skills, teamwork and understanding of the game.
The following players have shown exceptional skill, commitment and have been exemplary in demonstrating the core values of Girls' Football at BMGS.

Most Valuable Player and recipient of the Sam Griffin Award: Rosie Sullivan
For five years now, Rosie has been not only one of the most talented girls on the Firsts team, but also one of the most positive and hard working. Every aspect of her game is just beautiful to watch, she’s an incredible role model for anyone who’s had the pleasure of watching her play or experienced hearing her knowledge of the game. We have valued Rosie’s contributions as an ISA player since Year 8 and as the 2021 Firsts' Captain. Rosie has been instrumental in building the positive culture of girl’s Football at BMGS and has been an inspirational mentor and captain for her fellow team mates. She has always committed her time to the BMGS Football program despite having rigorous training commitments for the SAP teams she has played for over the years. Her presence on the football field will be dearly missed next year and we wish her and all of her fellow Year 12 players all the best.
In addition to the ISA Girls’ Football competition, our First XI girls played in the NSWCIS competition and made it through to Round 2. This was the first time our girls played in the NSWCIS competition, so to win through the first round (against Thomas Hassall Anglican College) to the second round, where the girls played Loreto Normanhurst, was an amazing achievement.
Thank you to all of the Football girls for their dedication and passion shown in the Winter 2021 season. We look forward to seeing you on the field next year.

Junior School Athletics Carnival - Thank you
Last week we were able to run the Junior School Athletics Carnival. Whilst this is the Senior School section of the Newsletter, I did want to acknowledge the efforts of the many parents, staff and our one student – Will Zakis (Year 10) who assisted me on the day. The Carnival started on time, the weather was perfect and everybody had a great day. With the Carnival running like clockwork, we were consequently able to have all results entered before 3:00pm and congratulations to Ziele/Pitt for their success in taking home the House Shield.
Summer Sport
Training for ISA teams will continue into next week. Please ensure you come prepared with the correct gear for training. Training for Term 1, 2022 will commence in the first week back on the same days that training has been run this term.
Touch Football
here is still a need for more players for touch football. If you think you may be interested in playing but would like to do some trial trainings and games please bring your gear for training on Tuesday after school.
There are still more trial games at Scots All Saints College Bathurst on 4th December. The School will be transporting students to the games so see Mr Hoffmann if you are interested.
Please watch the newsletter for further updates.

Cricket - 1st XI v St Gregory's College First XI
Last Saturday saw cricket back on the School’s Main Oval for the first time since March. The team played a trial game against St Gregory’s Campbelltown under perfect skies.
Using a format of both teams batting for 20 overs each and then batting for another15 overs, it gave everybody the opportunity to work their way back into cricket.
There were a lot of positives to come out of the game with Henry Horwood, in his first game as Captain, showing good skills with the bat and ball. A highlight was the mature field settings he set while we were bowling. Jett Fendall, who was on loan from Basketball, also batted very well.
On the whole, our bowling was tight and was backed up well in the field. Oliver Freeman’s leg spin bowling was on the spot from the first ball. Fred Horwood, who also filled in, bowled well and held a very difficult catch. Overall, the team played well for their first run, and this week we have another trial against St Augustine’s here at home.

Boys' and Girls' Basketball
It was wonderful to have the buzz of ISA sport in the Sports Centre again after what has been a long year.
Team were involved in practice matches throughout the day. Despite the long sporting hiatus and one training session, it was pleasing to see so many students brush of the cobwebs and get back into the swing of things – especially those who are new to the sport.
The Boys’ teams played St Gregory’s College and our Junior and Open Girls’ teams played each other. Each team played with wonderful sportsmanship and enthusiasm, with players gaining some much-needed court time and the opportunity to build chemistry.
A big thank you to the students who arrived early or stayed late to support other teams, and a special mention to the Cricket players who made for a energising support crew during the First V Boys' game.
