Becoming Men - The Return

Thursday night saw the closing ceremony for this year’s Becoming Men program. On another beautiful evening by the river, the Year 9 students gathered on the stadium side of Matagarup Bridge to commence their reflective walk back to the College. The students were dressed smartly as developing young men preparing to embark on the second half of their Secondary School experience, and completed the ten minute walk in near silence, reflecting on their life journey so far in light of their Becoming Men learnings, and considering what the future may hold.

Back at the College, the Becoming Men teachers symbolically handed the students back to their parents before sharing in a brief liturgical celebration, with contributions from parents, teachers and students. The whole evening wound up a year of challenges and successes, sending the students and their families off on their summer holidays in preparation for Year 10.
