Week 2

Hi everyone and welcome back! 

 

I hope you have had a chance to recharge your batteries, catch up with loved ones and spend lots of time being physical. 

 

REMINDERS:

Students are to wear their hats and bring a filled water bottle to Physical Education lessons.

Asthma puffers are to be used as a preventer before commencing sport

If a child is unable to participate in a Physical Education lesson please provide a note to let me know.

 

COMING UP SOON – DISTRICT SWIMMING:

Monday 22nd February – District Swimming Carnival for qualifying students aged 9 or above.  Students must be able to swim 50m within the times below.  Please send an email or letter to Mrs Pumpa listing strokes and times. Students are to be transported and supervised by parents/guardians at this event which runs approximately 2pm to 3.30pm at Tintern Grammar.  Only students who turn 10 or above in 2021 are permitted to attend the Division carnival.

GRADE 5/6 SPORT

During Terms 1 and 2 Grade 5 and 6 students will be involved in weekly interschool sport matches from the Warrandyte South district (see below). Students will be transported by bus to these matches and supervised by staff.  More information to come.

 

SPORTING DISTRICT CHANGE

This year Mullum Primary is in the Warrandyte South sporting district and will compete in interschool competitions against Marlborough Primary, Ringwood Heights Primary, Croydon Primary, St Anne’s, Our Lady’s, Ainslie Parklands and St Richards. Mullum will verse these schools in swimming, cross country running, athletics and Grade 5/6 weekly interschool sport matches.  Mullum Primary remains in the Maroondah Division for Eastern Metropolitan competitions.

 

WHOLE SCHOOL SPORT DATES

  • (TBC) - Tuesday 4th May - Whole School Cross Country – North Ringwood reserve.  Many parent helpers needed. 
  • Thursday 5th August - Whole School House Athletics Carnival at Proclamation Park.  All students from Foundation to Grade 6 will be involved in this event. Parent helpers needed for this event.
  • Thursday 12th August – back up day for whole school House Athletics Carnival
  • Monday 8th November to Friday 12th November - Whole School Swimming Program at Aquanation.  Students will be transported by bus and supervised by Mullum teachers.

OTHER SPORT DATES IN 2021

  • Monday 1st March - Division Swimming Carnival for qualifying students.  Entry to this competition at Aquanation is via the District Swimming Carnival. Students will require parent/guardian transport and supervision to attend.
  • Friday 12th March – Eastern Region Swimming Carnival for qualifying students.  Entry to this carnival at Aquanation is via the Division Swimming Carnival. Students will require parent/guardian transport and supervision to attend.
  • Tuesday 30th March – Division Tennis at Yarra Valley Grammar for qualifying Grade 5/6 students.  Parent/guardian transport and supervision required.
  • Thursday 22nd April – State Swimming Carnival for qualifying students via the EMR carnival.  Students will require parent/guardian transport and supervision to attend.
  • Grade 5/6 Team Vic Trials – Netball (Tuesday 27th April, Waverley Netball Centre), Soccer (Wednesday 28th April, Monbulk Soccer Club).  Parent/guardian transport and supervision required.
  • Thursday 6th May – Eastern Regional Tennis Tournament. Entry via Division Tennis tournament. Parent/guardian transport and supervision required.
  • Wednesday 26th May – Warrandyte South District Cross Country, 9.30am, Domeney Reserve.  Qualifying Grade 4 to 6 students will be transported by bus and supervised by Mullum teachers.
  • Tuesday 1st June – Division Cross Country at Yarra Glen Racecourse.  For qualifying students via District XC.  Parent/guardian supervision and transport required.
  • Tuesday 15th June - Eastern Metropolitan Region Cross Country at Yarra Glen Racecourse.  For qualifying students via Division XC.  Parent/guardian supervision and transport required.
  • Thursday 15th July – State Cross Country at Bundoora Park.  For qualifying students via EMR XC.  Parent/guardian supervision and transport required.
  • Thursday 2nd September – Warrandyte South District Athletics Carnival at Bill Sewart Aths Track.  For all Grade 5/6 students plus qualifying Grade 4 students via House Aths carnival.  All students will be transported by bus and supervised by Mullum teachers.  Back up dates:  7th Sept, 9th Sept, 13th Sept.
  • Thursday 7th October – Maroondah/Manningham Divisions Athletics Carnival at Bill Sewart Aths Track.  For qualifying students via District Aths carnival. Parent/guardian transport and supervision required.
  • Thursday 21st October - Eastern Metropolitan Athletics Carnival for qualifying students via the Division Aths carnival.  Parent/guardian transport and supervision required.
  • Thursday 11th November – State Athletics Carnival at Lakeside for qualifying students via EMR competition. Parent/guardian transport and supervision required.
