House Swimming Carnival

ST ANDREWS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE

HOUSE SWIMMING CARNIVAL

HOUSE CAPTAIN REPORTS:

Tilly Russell - Parkes

On Wednesday the 25th of February, we had the annual Middle and Senior School Swimming Carnival. It was great to see everyone involved and feel the sense on community here at St Andrews. We had loads of fun as House Captains, being able to run some events I especially liked the aerobics, it was very exciting and good to see everyone get involved. Well done to Parkes who had their first win in 15 YEARS! And well done to everyone who went along and cheered on their teammates.

Sofia Lopez - Barton

The annual Swimming Carnival was a great success! Filled with colour, dress ups and a sense of community, the carnival was jam packed. It displayed impressive individual performances and high levels of encouragement. Barton was involved and supportive from events such as Aerobics and dressing up as Baywatch! Well done to all swimmers and participants for your efforts on the day!

Ruby Muggeridge - Deakin

The annual Swimming Carnival was a great chance to get in the pool but also to support your house. We had a lot of fantastic dress ups and great swimmers. My favourite part of the day was when we did the floatie relay. It was a lot of fun and good job to Parkes, who won. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day run smoothly.

ST ANDREWS NETBALL CLUB

After a great start to the season the club had a smooth transition into our new association at Mountain District Netball Association. We completed 3 weeks of grading and the girls were bonding in their new teams with their coaches.

As a club we are also launching a Recipe Book Fundraiser. Please support our club by submitting a recipe that your family loves! We will compile these recipes and be selling the book to raise funds to help with supporting our club financially and keeping club costs low for families.

Please email your recipes directly to netball@standrews.vic.edu.au by 15th May.

Unfortunately due to COVID-19, St Andrews Netball club are taking a break until further notice. All games and trainings have been postponed. Please see an official statement from Netball Victoria below. We hope that all families stay safe and well during this time and our prayers are with you all.

Following the recent announcements from Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews that the State Government will be implementing a state-wide shut down of non-essential services, we ask our netball community to please follow suit and suspend all community netball competitions and activities.

Previously we had recommended that all community netball be suspended until April 14, however today we wish to update this to recommend that all community netball be suspended until May 31.

Netball Victoria recommends that all netball related programs including training and NetSetGO is suspended until May 31. Once again, this date will be reviewed continually, and we will update the Victorian netball community as soon as any further updates come to hand.

As we all know, this situation is evolving daily, if not hourly, and so we are doing our best to update the Victorian netball community with our recommendations with the most up-to-date information we have available to us at the time.

We would also like to thank our sponsors Andatech for their ongoing support.

Kind regards,

Lauren Gaschk
