Beacon Work Readiness
Many thanks to Goulburn Murray Water Mentors Zara Milenkovic, Nick Pearce, Vanessa Guiney, Alice Milner, Bronwyn Richardson and the Beacon Foundations Bec Macauley for delivering a Beacon Work Readiness Program “POLISH”, to Year 10 students on Tuesday October 17. Students workshopped skills to assist them with preparation for job interviews these included communication, team work, posture, confidence, public speaking, eye contact and conversation just to name a few.
G M Water staff presented a panel session on their pathways and enjoyed a lunch at The Connection helping the students put everything into practice they learnt throughout the morning.
Defence Force Visit
Australian Defence Force recruiting paid a visit to Shepparton High School on Friday Oct 13th.
A lunchtime presentation was given to students about the recruiting process and life in Defence.
All three Departments were covered Navy, Army, and Airforce.
Year 10 Work Experience
Year ten students have been participating in work experience through out the year in various businesses around Shepparton and Melbourne. Students gain a great deal of knowledge from work experience including the everyday working of a business, how the world of work take place, communication, team work and organisational skills.
