Doctor house calls are back!

National Home Dr's Service

People in Shepparton and surrounding suburbs may think that after-hours house calls are a thing of the past. In reality they are a commonly used service across Australia.

The National Home Doctor Service commenced operating in the area in February 2015 and aims to provide residents of Shepparton, Mooroopna and Kialla with access to after-hours medical care in the comfort of their own home or aged care residence.

All visits are 100% bulk-billed to those with a Medicare card and is a great alternative for anyone who needs to see a Doctor when their regular GP is unavailable, but their condition is not serious enough to go to the Emergency Department.

To ensure continuity of care and any follow up that may be required, the National Home Doctor Service provides a report after each visit to your regular GP by 8 am the following day.

The service is particularly useful for older people and parents with children who do not want to go out at night. It is also extremely valuable for school-age children who are susceptible to the spread of illness among their classmates.

The National Home Doctors Service operates 7 days a week, with bookings from 4pm Monday-Friday, 10am on Saturdays and all day Sunday and Public Holidays.
