The Environment Group + Friends
We were lucky enough to have one of our parents, Jessica Panaguiton, volunteer her time to teach various members of the Environment Group and other students how to make colourful garden sticks. She was ably accompanied on a Friday lunchtime by two other parents, Ali Visser and Jerema Gallagher. The students did a great job, and the sticks will soon be transformed into garden tepees to brighten up our yard. Thanks to all those who attended and there are still sticks and wool available if anyone is interested in making some more.
Reconciliation Week 2017
During week 5 our whole school talked about, recognised and celebrated Reconciliation Week. We discussed what reconciliation and our combined history means to us and what we can all do to make an Australia where we all live positively together.
We decorated feet to symbolise, “Taking the Next Step”, with statements for Reconciliation, and we made commitments to future change for Reconciliation. These will be displayed around our school, in words for Reconciliation. We also partnered with Kura Yerlo Kindy who performed at our Opening Ceremony and did some Reconciliation Week activities with the reception classes.
