End of Term 4

Welcome back

We welcome back all Year 7 and 8 students for Term 4. This term, students will have the opportunity to make some goals for 2018 as they enter Year 8 and Year 9.

Students will also have the opportunity to take on feedback from their teachers in Term 3 to make improvements for Term 4.

The end of the term will see Year 7 and 8 students participating in the school’s End of Year Program.  Students will engage in a range of beneficial and exciting educational activities.

Warmer weather

As the weather gets warmer (we hope), we remind all students that there are to be NO water fights.

As well as this, we remind students to be in full school uniform, including plain white socks and black polished leather shoes.

A cap/hat (excluding visors) is to be worn by students in all Physical and Sport Education classes during Term 4.

Attendance

Students are expected to regularly attend school as per Education Department policy.  There is a direct link between students’ school attendance and their level of school achievement.

Parents and Guardians are asked to ensure their son/daughter attends every school day.

The school is required to monitor student attendance including receiving explanation from parents/guardians for student absence and lateness.  Absences are to be approved on COMPASS or in writing.

Year Level Co-ordination team members and Home Group teachers will be in contact to follow up approved and unapproved absences and any overall attendance concerns.

In addition, if you have forgotten your Compass username and password, please contact the Junior School Office and speak with Kerri Skewes or Kerrie O'Rourke.

Late to school

Students are expected to be punctual for the start of school 8.30 am (Home Group Assembly commences at 8.40 am) and for each lesson.

Any  student who is late for school must sign in at the Junior School Office (with the Junior School Assistant) and provide a satisfactory written note of explanation signed by a parent/ guardian OR parent approval on COMPASS.

A lunchtime detention will be given if such a note is not provided.

Persistent lateness will be recorded in a student’s file, in reports or references and parents/guardians may have to attend an interview.
